Minecraft on PS4 (disc 3.12 · Bedrock 1.21.81, CUSA00265) is server-based online — you don't sign into Xbox Live, you pick a server from your in-game list and connect. Beyond our official XeMo servers you can point your console at any Bedrock 1.21.81 server: host one on your own PC or a box, join a friend's over your LAN, or add community servers.
Add servers by editing /data/XeMoNet/servers.ini on your PS4 — one per line, Name|IP:port. Names support Minecraft § colour codes. Example:

Run your own server
Grab Mojang's official Bedrock Dedicated Server 1.21.81 for your PC or host, unzip it, set the port in server.properties, then add its IP:port to your servers.ini exactly like above. Host it at home for LAN play or on a VPS so friends can join from anywhere.
Official downloads from Mojang. Use build 1.21.81 to match the PS4 client. Linux needs Ubuntu 22.04+.
